St George’s Church Centre is available for booking during the day, on weekdays, as well as in the evening and at weekends
To hire the Hall
contact the Centre Administrator, Glenda Stevens (see
Contact Page) and provide brief
details of the date and time you wish to hire a hall
as well as the nature of your requirement.
Please note the Centre Administrator is the only person at St George’s who can deal with bookings for the hall.
We do have a car park and parking on surrounding roads is also possible.
Centre is currently used for regularly in the evenings for uniformed
organisations, Slimming World, a local gardening society, concert band
A Coffee morning, a Day Centre, Aphasia Now and Speakability use the centre during the day. Some Church groups also use rooms for meetings.
At the weekend there is most availability where it is frequently used for children’s parties, family celebrations and concerts.
Rooms can be hired Monday to Friday from 9.00am onwards, Saturdays from 8:30am until 11:00pm and Sundays from 12:30 until 6:00pm. During school holidays and half terms there is more scope for hiring the hall on weekday evenings.
The Main Hall measures 60ft by 30ft (approx. 18 by 9 metres) and can seat up to 100. The capacity is limited to 125 for standing events.
The Small Hall measures 28ft by 23ft (approx. 9 by 7 metres) which is normally an ideal size for a family get together
The Softley Lounge measures 15ft by 15ft (approx. 4.5 by 4.5 metres) and is carpeted and has more comfortable chairs.
There is a well equipped kitchen with a servery counter into both the Main Hall and Small Hall.
The whole premises is accessible to wheelchair users. Tables and chairs are available as are crockery and glasses.
The hire rates effective from 1st January 2017 are: -
Main Hall £18.00 per hour
Small Hall £10.50 per hour
Softley Lounge £8.00 per hour
Small Hall and Softley Lounge together £13.00 per hour
Regular hirers of the Hall who use the Hall more than three times a year and who include children or vulnerable adults in their activities are required to give a copy of their Safeguarding policy to the Safeguarding Officer as a condition of their hire.
